Wildcats Advance To District Softball Championship Game

Wednesday, May 15 – The Rockbridge County High School softball team earned a 5-1 road win over Fort Defiance in the Valley District semifinals on Wednesday.

Kennedy Clemmer pitched a complete game for the third-seeded Wildcats (15-7), striking out two and allowing seven hits to help RC avenge to regular-season losses to second-seeded Fort. Madison Ruley had two RBIs and scored a run for the Wildcats, and Savannah McDaniel drove in a run.

With the win, their eighth in the last nine games, the Wildcats earned a berth in the Region 3C tournament next week. In the district championship game, they’ll take on top seed Turner Ashby on Friday at 7 p.m. at Harrisonburg High School.
