Violet Virginia Weade Clark, 95, of Lexington died June 23


Violet Virginia Weade Clark, 95, of Lexington died Friday, June 23, 2017, at her home.

Born Oct. 4, 1921, in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Elmer Fix Sr. and Beulah Knick Fix. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Curtis Clark, and her first husband, Harold Young Weade.

Mrs. Clark was a member of Union View Advent Christian Church, but attended Collierstown United Methodist Church in recent years.

Virginia retired from Lexington City Schools after many years of service. She was a great cook, loved her cats, and was very devoted to her family.

Surviving are her children, Lois Weade Jones and husband Denny, Wayne Weade and wife Betsy, Deborah Weade Aldridge and husband Ron, Lilah Weade, and Lisa Weade; sister, Flossie Ellen Fix; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with her son-in-law, Ron Aldridge, officiating. Burial will follow at Union View Advent Christian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 26, at Harrison Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that  memorial contributions be made in loving memory of Virginia to the Effinger Volunteer Fire Department, 2824 Collierstown Road, Lexington VA, 24450.
