Ursula Grace Spath, 78, of Lexington died Feb. 18


Ursula Grace Spath, 78, of Lexington passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at Augusta Health.

Born Nov. 4, 1939, in New York, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Pomroy Burchell and Anna Roselli Burchell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mathew Spath, and a brother, Clarence Roy Burchell.

Mrs. Spath was a member of Lexington Presbyterian Church. Ursula graduated from Walt Whitman High School where she was a varsity cheerleader and was employed by Guilford High School for several years.

Surviving are her husband, Jarold Wayne Spath; son, Eric Wayne Spath and wife Jeanne Spath of Staunton; and a granddaughter, Rachel Ann Spath.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Dr. William Klein officiating. Burial will follow at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends for one hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers St., Lexington, VA 24450.
