RC Girls Wrap Up Season With Loss At Brookville In Regional Quarterfinals

Friday, Feb. 16 – The Rockbridge County High School girls basketball team concluded its season with a 52-34 loss at Brookville in the Region 3C quarterfinals. ‘

Kylie Stark scored 29 points, sinking three 3-pointers and going 12-of-14 from the free throw line, to lead the third-seeded Bees (20-6) to the win. Brookville raced to a 12-0 lead in the first quarter over the sixth-seeded Wildcats (8-18). RC cut the lead to single digits in the second quarter, but Stark responded with back-to-back jump shots.

Senior Jorden Dunn led the Wildcats with 14 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks, and Graceon Armstrong added 10 points, eight boards, four blocks and two steals. Emily Galford scored eight points and had three assists and two steals. The Wildcats committed 15 turnovers.

It was a season of great progress for the Wildcats, who upset two teams in the Valley District tournament before falling to Spotswood in the district finals on Wednesday.
