Ralph Philip “Sam” Cole, 73, of Goshen died Saturday, May 4, 2019, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Ralph Philip “Sam” Cole, 73, of Goshen died Saturday, May 4, 2019, in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. 

Born May 10, 1945 in Bradford County, Pennsylvania, he was a son of Ernest Wesley Cole and Lois Lehman Cole.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Hinkle Cole.

Sam was presently working at Kroger in Lexington and had previously been employed by James River Equipment and Rockbridge Farmer’s Coop.

Surviving are his children, Tammy Montgomery and Jeremy Cole, both of Goshen, and Theresa Evans (Steven) of Raphine; sister Bonnie Lyles (John) of Chicago, Ill., and Nancy Seidman (Pete) of Miami, Fla.; brothers Ernest Cole Jr. ( Lourdes), Jim Cole (Sue), Jeff Cole (Tiffany) and Tim Cole, all of Pennsylvania; grandchildren Zachary Cole, Aaron Cole, Damian Montgomery, Danielle Montgomery, Olivia Evans and Serena Evans.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2019, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Galen Lemmon.  Burial will follow at Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Friday.
