Patterson’s Phenomenal Tennis Season Concludes In State Semifinals

Thursday, June 8 – Parry McCluer High School girls tennis player Maggie Patterson’s outstanding sophomore season came to an end with a 6-2, 6-1 loss to Mathews’ Maddie Brown in the Group 1A state singles semifinals on Thursday morning at Radford University.

Patterson, the runner-up in both the Conference 45 and Group 1A West Region tournaments, finished with a record of 11-6 as the Blues’ top singles player this season. She also helped the the Blues go 9-3 in team play, ending their season with a conference semifinal loss to Auburn.

Patterson and sophomore teammate Sophie Dryden were runners-up in the conference doubles tournament before ending their run in the regional quarterfinals.
