Marvin Berlin "Berl" Fitzgerald, 85, of Glasgow, died Saturday, Dec.29, 2018 at Pheasant Ridge Nursing and Rehab.

Born Dec.13, 1933, at his home in Buena Vista, he was one of 12 children to the late Woodie Franklin Fitzgerald and Bertie Fridley Fitzgerald.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Betty Thomas Fitzgerald.

Mr. Fitzgerald retired from Georgia Pacific and after his retirement was employed with Kroger in Lexington for approximately 10 years. He also was a member of the Glasgow Rescue Squad.

He enjoyed gardening and was a huge fan of the Washington Redskins and Virginia Tech.

Surviving are his children; Debra F. Wilmer and Darrell E. Fitzgerald; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens by the Rev. W. David Bain.

The family with receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Harrison Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Glasgow Rescue Squad, 710 McCullough St., Glasgow, VA 24555.
