Hot Night For National Night Out

Despite the heat, a hefty turnout of partiers attended the 35th annual National Night Out at Rockbridge County High School Tuesday night.

An estimated hundreds showed up to partake of free hot dogs and barbecue sandwiches provided by JJ’s Meat Shak, to get haircuts from Rockbridge Area Health Center, and take a quick spin in a pint-sized Virginia State Police cruiser, courtesy of VSP Trooper Todd Brendel.

Every law enforcement entity in the county was represented, and demonstrated equipment or delivered freebies, including Natural Bridge State Park, Virginia Military Institute, and the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.
