Gregory Hoolahan, 90, of Lexington died Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Heritage Hall.

Born Dec. 16, 1926, in Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late William Joseph Hoolahan and Lucy Kilgore Hoolahan.

Mr. Hoolahan was a member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, and served his country as a Merchant Marine, and was with the United States Army during the Korean War.

George retired from Vanity Fair Mills as a sales representative, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Surviving are his wife, Doris Artzberger Hoolahan; two daughters, Lori S. Apgar and Kris A. Hoolahan, all of Lexington; four grandchildren, Deirdre Cromie, Grant Cromie and wife Brittany, Jack Apgar, and Eva Apgar; and one great-grandchild, Emmett Webb Cromie.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in loving memory of George to the Special Olympics of Virginia, 3212 Skipworth Road, Suite 100, Richmond, VA 23294.
