GENEVIEVE BROWN

Genevieve “Genny” Catherine Brown, 41, of Amherst, formerly of Lexington, went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, March 25, 2018.

Born July 1, 1976 in Fayetteville, Ark., she was the daughter of Charles Ray and Veda Anne Bayless Brown of Amherst.

Genny dedicated her life to the service of others. She received her bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University, preparing her for a 17-year career in community service with the Lynchburg and Rockbridge Community Service Boards. In 2016, she received her master’s degree from Liberty University.

Genny loved the outdoors, especially the beach, music, and playing the guitar.

In addition to her parents, Genny is survived by her daughter, Sahara Pinelli, who was her pride and joy. Genny’s very strong love for Christ allowed her to lead Sahara to the Lord at the age of 8.

In addition to her daughter and her parents, Genny is survived by two brothers, Jerry Hunt of Phenix and Joseph Brown and wife Carrie of Lovingston; a nephew, Jeremy Brown; five nieces, Madelynn Brown, Whitney Hunt, Tiffany Hunt, Brittany Hunt and Ashley Hunt; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and her best friend, Sarah Douglas of Ohio.

A memorial service to celebrate Genny’s life was conducted Saturday, March 31, at GracePointe Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Greg Tyree officiating.
