Frances Lee Gilbert, 78, of Buena Vista died Aug. 28

Frances Lee Gilbert, 78 of Buena Vista, went to be with the Lord at her home, the home which she was born in and lived her entire life Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018.

Born Dec. 30, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Eddie and Etta Coffey Gilbert.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary E. Bowen, Della M. Frank, Peggy Dabney and Barbara Staton; one brother, Claude E. Gilbert; and her forever soul-mate, Billy Kirby.

Frances retired from Golden Living Center in 2005 where she was a cook.  She was a member of the NBC Mosiac Church.

Surviving are her four children, Mike Gilbert (Wanda), Cindy Campbell (Bunky), Larry Gilbert, and Laura Simmons (Jerry), all of Buena Vista; sisters, Pat Wampler (Darrell), of Buena Vista, and Betty J. Kelly, of Portersfield, Calif.;  eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends, and her precious dog, Tia.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gentry Hinjosa officiating. Burial will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  The family would like to acknowledge the comfort care of the Hospice staff she received and the love of family and friends who visited during her illness.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
