Charles Alfred "Buddy" Lotts, 76, of Roanoke died Dec. 4


Charles Alfred “Buddy” Lotts, 76, of Roanoke died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 22, 1942, in Natural Bridge, a son of the late C.P. Lotts and Cora Padgett Lotts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, William Thomas Wingfield; brother-in-law Jimmy Perkins; and special cousin, Marion “Tootsie” Mears (Gordon).

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marie Kessler Lotts; daughter, Penny L. Wingfield (Keith); Marie’s children, Teresa Howett, Jeff Cooper (Patricia); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Judith Lotts Perkins of Natural Bridge and Janet Lotts Longacher (Rob) of Staunton; two brothers, Bob Lotts (Burma) of Kingsport, Tenn., and David Lotts (Rose) of Victor, W.Va.; nieces Paige Perkins and Jennifer L. Stamer (Eric); nephews John Perkins and Matthew Longacher; great-nephews Alex Perkins and Cole Fitzgerald; special cousins Kim Klinefelter, Molly Klinefelter and Christopher Klinefelter; and long-term family friends Cindy Thompson Harper and Angela Thompson.

Buddy graduated from Natural Bridge High School in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965 and for several years in the National Guard. He retired from ITT in Roanoke with over 35 years of service. He loved spending time hunting, fishing and gardening.

Arrangements were by Oakey’s North Chapel in Roanoke. Full military honors were conducted in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke on Dec. 7.
