Blues Fall To Northwood In State Softball Quarterfinals

Tuesday, June 5 – The curtain closed on the Parry McCluer High School softball season with a 6-1 loss to Northwood in the Class 1 state quarterfinals on Tuesday in Saltville.

The Fighting Blues, playing in their third state tournament in four years, ended the season with a record of 12-6. Chloe Persinger hit a solo home run to give PM a 1-0 lead, but the Panthers tied the game and later pulled away by scoring four runs in the sixth, two on a homer by Jo Jo Broyles. Peyton Mohler led the Blues with two hits.

It was the last high school game for the Blues’ two seniors, Kate Beverley and Taylor Thompson.
