Betsy H. Floyd, 71, wife of Roy Lee Floyd, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at her home.

She was born Aug. 18, 1946, in Lexington, a daughter of Bertha Moore Hostetter and the late Carl W. Hostetter.

Betsy and Roy were joined in marriage on Sept. 17, 1966.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  Betsy loved her cat “Kitty,” her flowers and gardening, and working with preschool children.

Survivors include her husband Roy; son Brian L. Floyd; daughter Cynthia F. Stipp and her husband Jerry; grandchildren Kaila Stipp and Eden Floyd; sisters Patricia Knick and Phyllis Lineberry; aunt Loreane Barger; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Her service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at McDow Funeral Home in Waynesboro, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Glen Holman.  Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s research.

The family extends special thanks to the Hospice of the Shenandoah for their care.
