Road Conditions Improving

The Virginia Department of Transportation has upgraded the condition of Interstate 81 and all primary roads in Rockbridge County to “minor,” noting that icy patches remain on those roads.
All secondary roads, however, are still listed as “severe” with deep snow and ice, as of Monday morning.
Many businesses, including The News-Gazette, are open today, although Washington and Lee University decided to keep most of its employees home for the day. The students completed exams last week.
