Supervisors Agree To Funds For Goshen
![]() ![]() |
by Ed Smith
Rockbridge County on Monday came to the aid of the town of Goshen.
The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to provide up to $250,000 to Goshen so it can proceed with a $2.7 million project to replace the town’s aging water system.
The county’s help was needed because the town’s indebtedness was jeopardizing its ability to take out a $250,000 loan with the Virginia Department of Health. Had the snafu not been resolved by today, Tuesday, at noon, the town stood to lose more than $2 million it’s slated to receive in federal stimulus funding for the project.
