Another Lottery Winner

The Rockbridge area has had another top-prize Virginia Lottery scratch game winner.
According to Lottery officials, Adolph Moore of Lexington told his wife to take a look at the ticket he recently purchased at Timber Ridge Pit Stop on U.S. 11 north of Lexington. Mrs. Moore was very excited for him and thought he had won $500.
He told her to look again and said, “No, we have a real good one.” She was shocked to learn she was holding a ticket with a top prize of $100,000. That is the top prize available in the “5 Times the Money” game. Just nine days earlier, Jennifer Andrus of Raphine won $1 million on the “Maximum Millions” scratcher she purchased at Hunter Hill Texaco in Lexington.
Mr. Moore is a retired plumber and said he intends to use his winnings to help his family.
Since this is the fourth “5 Times the Money” ticket to win the $100,000 prize, there is only one top-prize-winning ticket to be claimed in that game.
This is part of the November 18, 2009 online edition of The News-Gazette.
